Is Your Romance Extraordinary?

Bashing someone on the head and dragging them back to your cave doesn’t lead to many second dates. Choosing between a
concussion and some cozy cuddling seems like a no brainer. The biological drive to procreate gave birth to the psychological need to communicate and connect. Adding a little romance to your words and deeds helps you transcend obstacles, enjoy the ordinary and pursue the extraordinary.

The extraordinary is simply the ordinary with a little extra.  When you speak, seeking agreement or approval, a small surplus can make all the difference.  Doing your homework is the easiest way to make sure you have more than you need.
Remembering to get flowers and chocolates is okay. Showing up with their favorite flowers and candies embossed with their initials, leads to anything but ordinary dates.

Adding romance to what you say can make ordinary words express extraordinary feelings.    The letters ‘o’ and ‘v’ are
about as common as ‘i’ and ‘k’, but when you fill in the blanks, “I l_ _e you” the difference is significant.   Use heartwarming words to fill the spaces between you and the commonplace.  Flowery or cloying sentiments are not needed, when you focus on making simple, special.

When you don’t get what you want, you rarely feel romantically inclined.  Yet, it is where you look which brings either the thorns or the flowers into focus.  Flirt with your failures but don’t fall in love.  Remember your first love? Sure, your hormonal haze obscured their now obvious flaws but your same romantic vision can soften stumbling blocks and turn them into stepping stones.

Living life romantically turns obstacles into opportunities, transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary and teaches us
to cultivate the little extra connection. After all, a smashing date may lead to a new life and the ultimate romantic connection.
